The Barony surrounds a massive crater left by a meteor generations ago. It is closed off from the ocean at all times save for high tide, when ocean water and the freshwater crater mix. It is known for powerful storms, and the saying goes that there's always at least one lightning-strike each week.
Spark - The Eye of the Storm
Located near the place where, at high tide, the sea and crater's waters meet, Spark is the best spot to watch the dramatic storms play out across the water. Soldiers are sent to Spark to train for the turmoil of battle, sent out into the storms to prove themselves capable of surviving even thunderstorms. Many are injured - often permanently losing the ability to walk or fly - in this trial, but the trial remains.
Barony of Roseglade
Roseglade is the smallest Barony of Gust Island, located in the south-west edge of it. It is all lowlands, short, green mountains and hills, marked with forests and open fields. Roseglade is considered a gentle place, known for its shepherds and fragrant flowers. It still suffers harsh winters, however, because of its lower elevation, Roseglade sees equally intense - but brief - summers.
Valley - the Garden of Gust Island
Nestled in a peaceful valley by a river that snakes its way down from the mountains of Bitterpeak, Valley is just about the most idyllic place in all Gust Island. The dragons here are farmers, tending to the sprawling city gardens and never having to hunt for food. The dragons who grow up here are sturdy, don't take any bullshit, and know the land well.
It is seen as a gentle exile for soldiers to be stationed in Valley; those who break the army's strict code of conduct are sent here to grow old among the flowers.

Barony of Bitterpeak
The largest and coldest of the Baronies, Bitterpeak takes up the entire northern half of Gust Island. It is mountainous and - as the name might suggest - bitterly cold. The peaks are icy and rocky, with few trees, and only the hardiest animals are able to survive here.
The GustWings of Bitterpeak are similarly hardy, and considered to be the strongest warriors and fighters anywhere on the Island. Tempests always make sure to hatch and raise their dragonets here, so they they can all claim to hold the rumoured strengths of the Bitterpeak dragons.

Peak - Capital of Gust Island
An immense city crafted long ago by the SilverWings, Peak was conquered by the GustWings when they fled to the Island from Pantala. The city takes up the better half of a mountain, and while it's certainly not the tallest of summits on the Island, it is made from extremely solid, sturdy stone. The top of the mountain is a massive fortress known as the Mountain Hold, where the Tempest, her family, and her guards make their homes.
Below, along the outside of the mountain or dug in very shallowly, are rows of streets that spiral the rest of the way down the slopes. There are a number of markets and residential districts, as well as a large barracks and an area of thick snow, for training soldiers to survive the most deadly of conditions.
