Dukes/Duchesses
VeilWings do not have Queens or Kings, but rather have divided their kingdom into three pieces, with three Dukes/Duchesses presiding over those pieces. They work together to present a unified face to the rest of the Blessed Isles but are almost entirely autonomous in how they choose to govern their Dukedom.
The first Dukedom is the small, fertile island north of Veil Island, full of rivers and lakes and thick, pine trees and snaking fog. The land here is carefully maintained with ashes imported from the main Island to be used as fertilizer. This is the outward face of the tribe, where all foreign dragons are received, and thus the Duke/Duchess in charge should have some diplomatic skill.
The second Dukedom is located on the northern half of the main Island, mostly made up of massive cliffs and basalt formations; most of the VeilWing population lives here, fishing in the waters and carving their homes into the rock face. The Duke/Duchess here will likely be mostly concerned with keeping their citizens happy, rather than defending the Island or presenting a good image to the other dragon tribes.
Lastly, the third Dukedom is the southern half of the Island and extremely volcanic. Despite their ability to resist it, few VeilWings really want to live in the smoky, blazing hot area of the kingdom, but those who do are considered to be the toughest of all VeilWings, growing the largest; the majority of the army comes from this Dukedom.
